Zimbabwean artistes in Hollywood

Zimbabwe Championships for Performance Arts (Zicopa)’s Team Zimbabwe is in Hollywood where they are taking part in the world championships of performing arts.
According to the spokesperson of the team Zandile Zaza Ndlovu the Zimbabweans become the newest team to take park in the event.
“This 10 day performance Arts Olympics will see Zimbabwe being the newest team to join 63 other countries vying for glory,” said Zaza.
The event opened on Sunday with a parade of nations in their national dress with Monday and Tuesday being dedicated to grooming for the contestants “by Hollywood industry talent scouts from film, dance, music, modelling and entertainment industry”.
“Lucky individuals may get scouted and awarded with scholarships of up to $380,000 or be given lucrative employment contracts in the entertainment industry,” said Zaza.
Zimbabwe is represented by Zicopa founder Jessica Nyarayi Tandy and contestants Sylent Nqo Nqo, Timothy Hogo, Tafadzwa Guzha, Denzel Takudzwa “Probeatz” Mashonganyika and Zaza who is the public relations manager and team captain.
“It is Zimbabwe’s maiden appearance and we are hoping to bring back gold medals. We have a very strong team. And we know we will bring exciting news to lift the spirit of our nation and expose Zimbabwean talent to the world,” she said.
