UNITED Arab Emirates-based upcoming gospel artist Aaron Makuyana, better known as Behold Aaron, is set to release a new single this week.
Titled Miracle, the single is a follow up to his well-received debut studio attempt, Champion, released last year. From his UAE base in Abu Dhabi, Makuyana said that all had been put in place for the new offing and fans should expect nothing short of a life inspiring and solid product.
“After the success of my first track I had to take my time and invest hard work on this upcoming track to maintain, meet and hopefully topple the standards set by Champion,” said Makuyana.
The artist, who doubles as an aircraft engineer and Apostle for the charismatic LoveWorld Ministries, popularly known as Christ Embassy, added that unlike most gospel artists, he remains steadfast on God as he is the source of talent and rewards in the competitive arts industry.
He said: “Note that l don’t see music as a commercial venture but rather any avenue to extend our gratitude to God for his everlasting grace, mercy and blessings upon us. Many artists find themselves torn between financial gain and fulfilling the calling of spreading the Word of God.”
The man of cloth, who is a father of two, a girl named Victory (7) and a boy named David (5), added that although his hit track, Champion, had afforded him a lot of opportunities and opened closed doors, he remained focused on his calling of serving God.
“I must admit the response I got after my single last year was overwhelming, which I can say rekindled the zest to create more songs. It’s an encouraging as an artist as I got to tour around the world and perform alongside big names in the gospel music fold. As much as I continue to inspire a lot of budding artists in and out of my ministry I relate to them the essence of putting Christ first before anything else as all things come through him,” said the Chipinge-born artist.
Giving a teaser to his forthcoming release, he said the track is a different pot altogether as it mainly targets the youths.
“I have incorporated the modern beat, which includes trappings and all that our youths find influence in nowadays. But that goes without mentioning that it also serves as an acknowledgment of the authority that Christ has in our lives, I also believe it will go a long way in ‘christianising’ the leaders of tomorrow, which is our young generation of today,” he said.
The talented vocalist and composer added that mixing and mastering of the single was now at an advanced stage and fans should expect it out in the coming week. Having been part of ZAOGA for years, Makuyana moved to the UAE in 2008 when he got a job at the Etihad Airways. Upon arrival he joined the Christ Embassy where he became one of the lead singers in the choir.
He later was identified by Pastor Joseph Kay who sent him for training for a senior pastoral role in the church. After being assigned to lead a church in the UAE he realised his calling and before time he was performing at the major church functions sharing the stage with established gospel artists, which resulted in him recording his first studio attempt, Champion.
