Artists Set a Mark in Hwange

By Tsitsi Ndabambi

The much talked about famous Makomo @7 gig which took place at Hwange Stadium last weekend was a big success and a memorable one for the coal town.

All the artists that were on the line up delivered what they promised that probably they will be engaged for next year’s show according to show organiser Eusabia Rayire.

Peter Moyo who was among the big fish in the music industry was at par with them strumming his guitar and sharing his hits and the golden oldies from the late Igwe Tongai Moyo.

The mixed bag of genres was the best decision that the show organisers made because the audience consisted of different generations.

Some were intrigued by the Charambas, Leonard Zhakata and the local Hwange band King Shakativhu Rythms.

Winky D Gafa and the Vigilance band almost attracted a stampede from the crowd as they all jostled to reach closer to him almost destroying the barricades.

They sang with him from the song 25, Dissapear and Photo.

The show which took a momentary break because of rains which threatened to damage stage equipment just before Aleck Macheso the Sungura champ.

The party was closed by Leonard Zhakata at 5am the next day.
