Man Finds Wife in Bed with Brother, Requests 10 Cattle
A man from Chimanimani in Zimbabwe has accused his wife of engaging in illicit activities with his own brother and is demanding 10 cattle compensation as a result.
Shingai Chirongwe (43) caught his 23-year-old wife, Mavis Mambeu, in bed with his 58-year-old brother, Taurai Chirongwe. Although Shingai forgave his wife, he insisted on receiving 10 cattle as compensation from Taurai.
The matter was brought before Acting Chief Saurombe’s court on Sunday, where Acting Chief Saurombe ruled that Taurai should compensate his brother with two cattle. However, Taurai’s wife, Sarah Chiripasi, defended her husband and accused Shingai and Mambeu of conspiring to engage in various sexual encounters for financial gain.
Sarah Chiripasi claimed that Mambeu had been caught with other men on multiple occasions, suggesting that the affair was part of a money-making scheme. She demanded three cattle from Mambeu for her involvement with Taurai.
In his court application, Shingai stated that he had discovered the affair through divine intervention and had warned Mambeu about her illicit relationship with Taurai. He also claimed that his nephew had witnessed the two engaging in intimate activities in the bush while he was at church. Shingai confronted his wife, who initially denied the affair but later confessed and asked for forgiveness. As a resolution, Shingai took Mambeu to Taurai’s home and presented her as his brother’s second wife.
During the court session, Taurai admitted to having an affair with his brother’s wife but claimed that Mambeu had initiated the relationship. He argued that Mambeu had approached him, expressing dissatisfaction with her husband’s performance in bed. Taurai admitted giving in to Mambeu’s advances, stating that he could not resist her. However, Mambeu disputed Taurai’s claims, asserting that he was the one who had proposed the affair.
Mambeu revealed that she also had another case pending before Chief Muusha’s court, where she was caught with two other men. She claimed that her husband’s other wife had orchestrated the situation to get rid of her out of jealousy.
Acting Chief Saurombe ultimately ordered Taurai to compensate his brother with two cattle and two goats for the court. The case highlights the complex dynamics and disputes arising from the alleged infidelity within the family.
